Six Femmes Pour Un Homme
(Claude COGNARD)

Publicidade
Six women to one man! Alexander, the owner of a jewelry store, recently hired Maud as a salesclerk. She was hired not for her experience in jewelry but for her model like appearances. Alexander is considered to be somewhat of a womanizer by his employees. True enough, he adores women! His wife Pauline, the unique shareholder, is credulous, stupid and pretentious, suffers from a serious bout of jealousy. Very aware of this, Alexander nonetheless is easily led around by Maud. Blinded by her beauty, he often accompanies her home after work. One night after closing, Maud finds herself helping her boss with the day's accounting. Willing to do anything to seduce Alexander, and because it is her birthday, she decides to seize this moment to profess to him her extravagant tastes whereupon expressing her wishes for expensive jewelry in return for her help. She suggests a romantic tête-à-tête leading far into the night and proposes to make love to him while under the watchful eye of the surveillance camera and not getting caught. The minutes go by and the error is nowhere to be found. To make matters even worse! The impromptu arrival of Alice an employee at the boutique, who has forgotten her apartment keys in her locker causes an unexpected turn of events for the upcoming evening. Alice suspects Maud and Alexander have not really given much interest in resolving the problem at hand. The telephone rings and Alice quickly answers the phone at which point an undistinct female voice (that of the Alexander's wife) is heard wishing to speak to Alexander. Alice replies by saying that he has already left the store. Pauline believes that Alexander is in the company of Maud, because he oftens dreams out loud about her, at which point she in turn enters the store... Maud has not haphazardly applied at the Saint-Héand, she holds secrets concerning Alexander which she wants to reveal to him, but understanding that Maud's talents are not in jewelry sales, he decides he is going to fire her. Maud mentions Marianne, his mother. A name very magical to Alexander, it evokes a love he had during his younger days and Maud fits that age range. Second notice, third degree...To be read as a comedy sketch-Surprises, quiproquos, humour... A rythmical text and funny, Claude Cognard brings us from one gag to another, from discovery to discovery. Rapidly the situations turn into comedy, for the story is simple and limpid ending in a sort of Fairy tale. Thank-you to all who do take time to read my texts.
