Resumo de Don Quixote - Miguel De Cervantes Saavedra

The first time I read Donquixote was at my very childhood but it was a very simplistic form.To me it was merely an adventorous story infact at that adolecent age I was attracted to that kind of adventurous stories. The hero Donquixote had left a deep impression upon me.Out of all epics my favourite was Don quixote,the reason behind it is that fantasy is more attractive than realism.Realism becomes dull while fantasy is always changing colour.At my youth the kind of books I read were abridged,the first Shakespeare I read was that of the abridged one of Charles Lamb and that is why I loved Shakespeare,and I start reading the real Shakespeare.But Don quixote's original edition by Serventes was a book I could not get hold of for many days and since India was a colonial nation everything I read was in translation,and it was at the age of 19 when I got it and the name of the book was the Adventures of Donquixote .After reading the prologue of this book I wondered why I had not read this fantastic book before because it would have changed my life,and here is a book which stands like a pillar for the entire spanish literature and I ask why not for world literature.A man has an ugly and stupid child but because of his blind love for his son he sees no fault in the boy on the other hand whatever the boy does is to him a sign of his genius and beauty , and he sings his sons praise.Like wise everybody might think that I am father of the story,actually I confess to have adopted the fatherhood yet I will not ask the readers with tears in my eyes to forgive the false or shotcomings of this child of mine as is the custom today.You oh readers can critisize it freely now the mystry is how can a writer become the adopted father of his own book this mystry is there in both the volumes of the novel.In the prologue Cerventes has also said the book has been written in the horrible environment of the prison that ofcourse is true Cervantes has had quite an eventful life.Cerventes joined the army once he fell into the hands of the pirates and spent five long years in the prison of the Algerian mislims and was rescued by his family in 1580,it was here that he started his great epic,nobody in Europe was thinking of writing fantasy or abstruction there is nothing like that in English or American literature . Cerventes's story started as an adventour in which a middle aged man of La Mancha thinks of himself as a knight and goes out in search of fulfillment of life.He confusses imagination and fact all the time so a windmill becomes a fortress prostitutes become princesses rich powerful men become dacouts.The satire is hidden so well that its hardly noticable it seems to be mad man's world and the reader loves him.Cervantes has mentioned that his real story was written by Hamid Benanguli and thats why he calls himself the adopted father.The structure of the novel is so brilliant ,because Hamid Benanguli never existedand it was all the imagination of Cervantes.Stories inside stories,this kind of novel was never written before in Western literature,and here is a book which stands like a pillar for the entire spanish literature.There are places where the reader wonders whether the knight is reality or just another mind game Cervantes is playing .The fact Shakespeare and Cerventes died the same day gives a mystyrios feeling.
