The Valley Of The Horses
(Jean M. Auel)

Publicidade
The Valley of the Horses continues the story of brave Ayla, a young woman who learned to live among the Clan, a people very different from herself, in the first book. She learns to live alone in this one. After leaving her son and adopted family behind, she finds a valley that has plenty of food, especially horses, and plenty of shelter, enabling her to survive being outcast from the only home she's ever known. At first, she is completely alone in her new home but eventually she befriends a horse and a lion. Through them she learns that animals are more than just food. They can provide companionship and help with hunting and other chores. They change the way she looks at animals forever. For a long time, it is just her and her animal companions surviving as well as they can. Then one day her full-grown lion friend confronts a couple of hunters in a cave. Ayla arrives in time to rescue one of them and finds herself face-to-face with a person who looks like her instead of the Clan. Now she can finally learn about her own people. She quickly grows to love the young hunter named Jondalar but when he asks her to start over yet again and join him on a journey to meet his people, she once again has a difficult choice to make. Her valley is lonely but it is also safe and familiar. She would have to leave it forever because his family lives so far away. Once her decision is made there can be no turning back.
