Step back in time to the beginning of the 1900's. A well off American family board the Titanic. And what follows is a wonderful, heartwarming tale. Edwina is on the Titanic with her parents, her brothers and sisters, and her fiance, Charles. They are sailing back to America to begin prepaerations for their wedding, after visiting with her mothers sister in England. Of course, they are all very excited to be on board the wonderful ship, and are all blissfully happy. Until it hits the iceberg.
After that terrible night, Edwina faces life without her husband and her parents, and finds heself with little time to grieve as she has to raise her four brothers and sisters alone. She has to deal with the mishaps that lfe throws her way as her siblings begin to get older.
This story is one of the best from Danielle Steel. The reader is drawn in and actually lives through the hurt and pain of Edwina and her family, and everybody who reads this will, without a doubt, shed a tear or two in the process.
