The Last Caton
(Katherine Neville)
In addition to the excellent imagination of Matilde Asensi, author of the book, is possible to emphasize the ingenious adaptation of the same book to the work of Dante Alighieri "The Divine Comedy". A nun, paleograph cooperator of the Vatican?s Secret Archives, an archaeologist and a captain of the Vatican?s Swiss Guard are the protagonists of this frenetic adventure, whose purpose is the discovery of the last member of the secret society of catones, originated a lot centuries ago to keep with fervor the Side Cross, that is to say, the true Cross where Christ was crucified. But to arrive to him they will have to surpass seven tests (corresponding to the seven capital sins), each one of them located in a different city; the part of "the Divine Comedy" that corresponds to the Purgatorio will be the only aid with they count on. Truely, everything seems to fit perfectly in this book, which equips it with a full credibility. Also, the autor interpretation of work of Dante is wonderful, just as her creation capacity of a history that, although we know that is fictitious, would not surprise to us if also they affirmed the opposite. The end does not disappoint either. She dares to describe everything about it, even though it had been tempting, and why not to say it, much more easy, to leave settled it in a certain point of the history (it is often made by the most of writers and scriptwriters). Really, a brilliant book for the lovers of the sort of adventures, thriller and suspense, equipped with a transcendental reason like bottom matter.
