The protagonist or the young girl is not only representing the women or female exploitation but a large part of the society in general. It reveals the oppressive systems prevailing right from the level of the family to the working enviroments. The body politics , the power politics, the capitalistic commodification to the labour union , everything has been exposed through this novel. the girls voyage from the labour union office to modelling and tricked into surrogate motherhood in the name of love is an eyeopener to this society hypnotised by visual images thrown into our lives without much choice.
