Animal Farm
(Orwell, George)

"ALL ARE EQUAL BUT SOME ARE MORE EQUAL"

This famous quote is apt to describe 'Animal Farm' in a nutshell as books or in other words classics unique and a few are truly unique as this 'Animal Farm'. For the ones (few) who are unaware of the story, here goes the storyline. Animals in the Farm tired of the tyranny of their farm owner, schemes against him and throw him out of the farm and they device their own plan (with the policy all are equal) and run the farmhouse efficiently proclaiming their farmhouse to be the successful farmhouse devoid humans. But this joy is short-lived as the supposed leaders slowly get into the shoes of the human-beings. The novel ends in typical style, as the lesser animals like mouse, rats, etc. peep into the secret meeting held at night and watch the scene helplessly, as they are unable to identify humans and their own Animal leaders.

On the deeper-level it?s a dig at the Russian leaders who put into the practice the Marxian theory in its crudest form. Even the names of the characters are taken from history, the names of the leaders of various revolutions.
Not only the Russian revolution, even French revolution met the same fate as in Napolean's later days equality, liberty and fraternity were thrown to winds.

Orwell in subtle way brings out the truth that Michavillean theory would never be successful and history of revolutions proves that!
Orwell stands apart in his distinct narrative style which captures the readers of all ages irrespective of their ages...
This book is A BOOK FOR ALL AGES AND A BOOK FOR ALL SEASONS
