Beauty And The Beast

The story of Beauty and the Beast is about a merchant, his family, and daughter named Beauty. They happen to become poor and therefore move to a farm in the country where the merchant has to leave for town and Beauty ask him to bring her a rose on his return.
The merchant on his way back from town, caught in a storm, looks for shelter in the Beast's palace. The following day when leaving he picks a rose for his daughter Beauty. He then encounters the owner a Beast who is very angry at him. The Beast tells the merchant he must now die for picking his rose. Beauty?s father begs for his life to see his daughters again. The Beast agrees to him going home, but he must return his daughter Beauty back to take his place. Beauty returns to the Beast's castle, convinced she will be killed, instead, she is made mistress of the enthralled palace.
In the beginning, Beauty is frightened of the Beast, and trembles at the sight of it. Then she found that, in spite of the Beast?s appalling head, her horror of it is slowly fading as time goes by. As time goes by they become friends and the Beast asks her to be his wife. She agrees to only be his friend, and will reside with him forever, but not as his wife. One day she sees in a magic mirror that her father is ill and the Beast permits her to return to her home for only one week to say farewell to her father. Beauty?s sisters beguile her to stay past the allotted week, and she returns tardily at the castle, finding the Beast lying near death from anguish at her failure to return. Beauty becomes conscious of her loves for the Beast and begs him to live, so that she may be his wife. Beauty passionatley kisses the Beast and he turns into a handsome prince. Beauty marries her prince and her father and sisters comes to live with them at the palace. They live happily forever after.
