The Angel From The Sky
(Jojho)
Sean gazed at the building in front of him. He said to himself that it was here where he would make a real breakthrough. 'Heavenly Talents' was the text which adorned the building. 'Singing Talents Discovered' ran the small case. A guard was sitting at the gate, he seemed vaguely familiar to Sean, probably from some casino or over a game of cards or something like that. The guard motioned him to enter. Everything seemed so welcoming to Sean. Even the flowers that lined the path from the building to the gate seemed to greet him as one of their own. A receptionist met him when he entered. The inside largely failed to meet up to the expectations one had on seeing the outside of the building. Anyhow, Sean found himself in a waiting room, alongwith forty others, obviously all of whom wanted to try their luck at singing. About two hours later, his turn came. He had been having trouble keeping awake all this time. The night before, he had spent in striking the right chords, thus losing eight hours' sleep. Immediaterly his tiredness vanished, He walked proudly and slowly to the room where the auditions were being held. All he saw was a gloomy looking man keeping his eyes on a desk in front of him. In the same posture he shouted out to Sean, "SING!"Sean had not expected the request to be made so precisely and in such a tone. However, he opened his mouth and sang out the first two lines with as much feeling he could muster up. He did not reach further. In the same pitch of voice, the man shouted out, "Next!"All the while he had his eyes on the desk. Even if the Prime Minister would have sung and gone from that room in front of him, he would not know it. Sean could not understand anything. He had sung only two lines. The song was of five minutes. A janitor sort of a fellow walked to him and whispered," Tough luck, man! But you gotta go." In a trance, Sean walked out of the building, out of the gate, straight into the arms of a man running towards him. Both of them fell down and Sean helped the man to get back on his feet. The man dusted himself and said, " Hey, you must be a talent from Heavenly, right!" Without waiting for an answer he carried on," Then hurry up and come. The singer whom we had planned to bring has gone down with fever. Will you please sing us some songs in the Lion's Club function this evening?" Sean took some time to digest the situation when he saw light, a new light came toi his face. He caught the man's hands and starting to walk, asked him," So, what kind of songs would you want me to sing?" He had found his angel;it had dropped into his arms from heaven.
