Introduction

The word shape remains us about circles, rectangles, polygons, hexagons, square, triangle and many more. It has indeed got deeper meaning that geometrical shapes and properties. There is lot of importance given to this word in all walks of life. The reasons are studies on further progress into the subject.

Meanings

Reader?s digest greater Encyclopedia Dictionary gives the following meanings for the word shape:

1.) External form, contour, configuration, visible appearance, characteristic of person, thing, guise, etc..

2.) Mould for jelly to bring definite, desired form.

3.) Definite of regular form of orderly arrangement.

External form

External form denoted the physical appearance or arrangement for living beings and nonliving objects. This is detrimental in deciding the worth and utility of the particular object or person though the influences might not always be true.The inference do turn out to be true because the word is used more so in conjunction with inanimate things. This term is relative in geometrical illustrations and engineering designs. The external form is very useful in terms of academics industry and arithmetic calculations. It helps a lot in deciding specifications and making estimations. The analysis on the external form will be prudent in most cases as long as they belong to the category of nonliving objects. However our human mind tend to take important decisions even for living beings(on the basis of this external form).This is where mistakes occur and it is imperative to correct them at the earliest.

For instance we decide the strength or weakness of an animal or a person based on the external form. Even though scientific studies substantiate these evaluations there are ground realities that one needs to account for before making any evaluation.

As discussed earlier the results turn out to be precise and accurate in the case of nonliving objects provided the calculations are made accurately. They help a lot in industry and in every sphere of life. They predominantly decide the function of the particular object.

Configuration

Configuration is an arrangement followed in many venues like hardware and software. This also helps greatly in many operations. This word finds prominence in academics and research. Infact configuration is an incredible part of every activity.

No activity will be successful if the arrangements are not sequential or orderly. While configuration is an inevitable component an artist always thinks beyond the regular stream more so referred and ?lateral thinking?.





Visible appearance

Visible appearance is an important and misleading phenomenon. What appears true to the naked eyes might not apparently be true at all times. This applies to both living and non living .There is a reason for including the importance element in it. It is because of its immense use in deciding the results of many occasions without any bias. The growth of plants, animals progress of a patients health would not have been otherwise decided but for visible appearance.

Characteristics

Characteristics of person or thing denote physical attributes or features. A person is said to be flat or slim or thin or tall. Similarly when it comes to object we call it circular triangular and so on. There is a difference between external form and characteristics. While external form is solely concerned about the outer part the word characteristic includes both ?inner and outer?.



These differences do not necessarily mean that it is better to judge by characteristic feature than by external form. It is only an attempt to draw the differences while The underling fact is that each of them has their own pros and cons.

Characteristic feature does occupy more significance as they depict the inner quality. They are of great use when it becomes necessary to judge someone or something based on inner and outer qualities. Charactteristic feature forms an important part of psychological studies. It is unfair to restrict to certain aspects to a subject like this. This should be a part of learning
for everybody as it forms an important element in day to day life.
