The Omen
(DAVID SELTZER)

Publicidade
I?ll always remember this novel as it made me scream out of terror. I was sitting in my room completely absorbed in the novel and suddenly a hand touched my head and I screamed later realizing it was my friend standing by the side of the door. Hysterically I shouted at him, later apologizing for my odd behavior.
This novel is the story of a couple, desperately in need of a kid, but everytime something or the other thing went wrong leaving them without the happiness of child. One fine day, 6 June at 6 O?clock Kathy gave birth to a child that was brutally murdered by the worshippers of Satan. And playing a dirty trick, the child born of Jackal was replaced (not exactly replaced but given to the husband, Mr. Thorn) with the one born of Mrs. Thorn. The child was the incarnation of Devil, and on the fourth birthday the nanny committed suicide and another nanny took over, who was again the worshipper of Devil.
And in the whole chain, Mr. Thorn comes to know the reality of the child, but its too late and what will happen now is what will interest the readers.
Though the story is beautifully crafted, there are certain flaws. On the part of research, the author has no rivals in horror writing.
