WOMEN have categorized as inferior or weaker sex. The chauvinistic society even goes to the extent of terming her as a ?Sex Symbol ?or ?Sex Machine?. However the debate of reservation and fighting for women?s right continues uninterrupted in public life.

Matter of Fact

Right from the time human beings were created women played a predominant role that paved way for man?s survival and upliftment. The bitter truth always remains that she is continually exploited harassed and made to undergo all woes as per the whims and fancies of men.

Current Trend

There is a seachange with respect to her recognition in professional life in the modern context be it corporate world or politics or any other walks of life. Infact they have started to outbeat MEN in many fields and have proved that they are more or less at par with men. A section or a large group in the community still remains suppressed.

Contradiction

What we hear and get to know through media is hype and reflects the success stories. There is no doubt that they should be acknowledged and shown due recognition. The question of what is happening to the other sect till remains unanswered.

Economics and women

The theories of economics advocate that a homemaker should be monetarily rewarded for the services rendered by her. The subject has nothing to do with woman welfare but provides the view on account of rewarding the factors of production

If we are to apply the same theory in another perspective that is considering the welfare of women it will be evident that this can be one form of boosting her. Many would argue that this practice won?t be logically correct. They would claim that it is her duty and financial benefits demean everything. We are to analyse things in a rational perspective and not by taking an evangelistic view.

Contribution to development

The world has witnessed the birth, growth and destruction of several institutions. An analysis would reveal that women have played a vital part in making up them.

Physical Relationships

People frown at women if they are not virgins. The question of chastity does not find a place as far as men are concerned. This is not a judicial approach. Why should special treatment be metted to one category of people and hypocritically claiming that everybody is equal?

Social evils

A) Ancient practices

The horrible system of Sati and infanticide comes to mind while discussing on these areas. The only relief is that this has come down to a drastic extent.

B) Hypocrisy and justification

The point to be worried is that they still continue uninterrupted in certain rural areas and underdeveloped areas of the nation inspite of the draconian laws and the so called self-proclaimed protection of human rights. The reason behind these social evils is neither convincing nor prudent. Something has been said for the heck of harassing woman folk.

Stigma

There is lot of barriers in the society itself, which prevents the development of woman. Whaever be the reason the truth always remains that one set of values is adopted for man and another set of values for woman.

Clinical facts

Common sense will reveal that a woman is stronger when compared to man physically for the simple reason that she is able to and is blessed with an ability to carry a child for 10 months in her body.

Women tend to be emotional and are hence taken for granted by men. The point is that no one gets to understand the relief in blurting out things unlike her male counterpart. Unfortunately this is counted as weakness and counted as meek character for woman. Her tolerance levels are also high. Scientifically speaking she can undergo and sustain pain or hunger more a male member. These facts and figures are not meant to substantiate her. They are only a reflection, which counters the popular myth of her being flimsy oor fragile. They are baseless and vexatious claims. As woman gets increasingly popular in public life there are a vast majority who work against her progress.
