About 1000BC a waveof invadus of Indo Europe stock moved through the Alpina passes and occupied parts of Central and Southern Italy. They were mainly of four tubs-sabiones,samnites,umbrians and latins. The latins settled in central Italy and built small villages from themselves. By 800 BC when forty such villages existed,they resolved to built a city they close a site beside the river Tibet, a dismal,malaria-ridden swamp forthe mostpart, and began to clear the area and rain.
