The Best Friends' Guide To Pregnancy
(Vicki Lovine)

Publicidade
This book is a veritable life-line to those first time mothers-to-be who really want to know but are afraid to ask questions that may seem obvious to others! All written with the author's characteristic and deadpan wit, we are dragged kicking and screaming through the ins-and-outs of her pregnancy. She tells us in a very soft and gentle manner that there is really only one way throught the hideous pain of labour and that is to 'PUSH RIGHT THROUGH THE PAIN AS HARD AS YOU CAN.' This may make you want to run screaming in the opposite direction but unfortunatly, as she points out, that is no longer an option at nine months.

Sometimes you will want to cry with her as she stumbles through her nine months, often you will laugh out loud with her and frequently you will thank her for sharing this most intimate of times with you. If your best friend (like mine) is still footloose and fancy free and more concerned with what holiday to go on rather than which form of pain relief to use in labour, this could be the book for you. It will guide you through the first few days and months of excitement, trepidation and downright fear with a sure and steady hand, and be there with you as you waddle your way through the final months. She will never laugh at you but she will show you how to laugh at yourself and reassure you that everything is normal, as all good best friends should.
