La Croix D'une Damnation

Faust finds himself in the inmost depths of the dismal Black Mountain, looking for a bronze statuette said to be harbouring the soul of a jinn. Narrowly missing falling into the bottomless abyss of the of the damned mountain, Faust finally finds the object of hios quest: the grotesque figurine.
With the bronze idol in the grip of the adventurer the genie is freed. A discussion follows and then a riddle is posed to Faust. He replies in an enlightened but inaccurate manner; nevertheless, he finds three wishes granted to him. But hold on! One of the wishes must be used to permanently free the genie.
When Faust wakes up following his black out caused by the newly-freed creature, he finds himself alone in the mountain. He somehow manages to get out of the deep caves of the Mountain to finally reach the path leading to the soil of France.
He moves towards the only city he could see, but his memory fails him. He does not seem to remember anything except the last moments in the cave, with the jinn. Did the jinn have a bit of fun at his cost? And have his wishes been fulfilled? What has happened to them?
Faust quickly realises that no one recognises him in the city of Villefranche-l?Ancienne and that he recollects absolutely nothing of this city or its people.
He therefore decides to look for a doctor who could help him to remember. In fact, he learns that there is indeed one who lives like a hermit in the woods at the edge of the city.
He is however accosted on the way by an angered soul ? a knight on horseback, who blocks the bridge while shouting against Faust. Finally, someone recognises him?But 0-

La croix d?une
damnation est un suspense renversant, appuyé d'un arrière-plan historique, se
déroulant en 1235 dans une Normandie française.
