Creativity comes to some as a natural gift, while some acquire it when they face certain situations. There is I guess no better form of creativity than imagination. The powers that imagination bestows on you are one, which you hardly realize. What better way to understand the strength in imagining then read a book about a Little girl who uses her imagination to be happy? This book is none other then Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The story is about a little girl Sara.
Sara Crew was born in the family of a British Army official, who used to work in India. Her mother died at a young age. Her father cared for her as though she was a little princess. He made her join a Seminary to make her study. Although she was treated as a princess, she never was rude to anyone. She was clever, kind and helpful. But fate was against her. When her father died, she was reduced to being a scullery maid. But she never gave up, although she was a little seven-year-old girl. She imagined herself to be a princess and treated everyone with extreme politeness. The best and most emotional part of the story is when she is all hungry & cold, and she finds a sixpence to buy some bread, whereupon she gives the bread to a beggar girl, who did not have food for days. Her kindness really touches one?s soul.
No doubt this is a very good book. I don?t think there is any age limit for reading this book. For this book is one which can be read for leisure and to understand humanity in better way. But above all, this book teaches you many important values, which you rarely come upon these days. So do enjoy reading the book. Bravo! Frances.
