Use the following recipe to make a pot of thisamazing vegetable soup. Then, eat all the soup youwant each day... along with the foods listed underthe recipe... for each of the 7 days. No otherfoods should be added to the plan and none shouldbe left out.Makes about 18 - 1 cup servings. 1 - 46 oz. can V8 juice1 - 14.5 oz. small can of diced tomatoes6 medium stalks of celery (approx. 1 cup)1/2 medium cabbage, red or green (approx. 6 cups)1 medium onion (approx. 1 cup) (Lillie prefers the sweet onions such as Vidalia)6 medium carrots (Or pre-sliced to equal 1-1/2 cups)2 medium green peppers (approx. 2 cups) (red and/or yellow can also be used)All the above are required items for best results.The following items are optional, but when used,they will greatly improve the taste of your soup!1 envelope of Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix1 - 14 oz. can Swanson's Lower Sodium Beef Broth1 beef bouillon cube or package1 tsp. garlic powderadd black pepper to your tasteChop and dice veggies. add all ingredients into alarge stock pot. Add water if necessary to bringliquids to almost twice the depth of the veggiesin the pot. Bring to a boil, and stir as needed.Cook on low heat for about 2 hours... or untilall the veggies are soft.Add any other seasonings such as curry, parsley,or any other spices or herbs to suit your taste. Before you add salt... be SURE to taste it sincemany items already have salt!Nutrition Facts - all values are per 1-cup servingCalories 50, Calories from fat 2, Total Fat 0.2g,saturated fat 0g, Cholesterol 0 mg, Sodium 476 mg,Total Carbohydrate 10.4g, Dietary Fiber 2.4 g,Protein 1.5g, Weight Watcher's points 1.You may substitute Low Sodium V8 Juice and theresulting Sodium will be 321mg instead of 476mgper serving. Some values may vary slightly depending onproducts used.You may safely keep prepared soup in yourrefrigerator for up to one week.Start your Diet in the morning and weigh beforeyou eat anything. Do not weigh again until the endof the 7th day. Our weight can easily change upand down from day to day and give us a falsereading on the diet's effectiveness if you weighdaily.Following are the foods you should eat each day ofthe 7 days of the quick weight loss program. YouMUST eat these foods along with all the soup youwant.Day 1 - All the fruits you want... any fruitsexcept bananas - plus all the Souper Soup you want.Day 2 - All the veggies you want, a baked potatowith margarine for dinner - plus all the SouperSoup you want. No starchy vegetables (corn, peas,beans, potatoes or rice) unless called for in thediet.Day 3 - Combine day 1 and 2, but no potato - plusall the Souper Soup you want.Day 4 - Up to six bananas, all the skim milk (fatfree milk) you want - plus all the Souper Soup youwant.Day 5 - 10 to 20 ounces of beef, chicken or fish,a small can of tomatoes, - plus all the SouperSoup you want.Day 6 - All the beef, chicken or fish andvegetables you want - plus all the Souper Soup youwant.Day 7 - Up to a cup of cooked brown rice at bothlunch and dinner, up to 12 ounces of unsweetenedfruit juices and all the non-starchy vegetablesyou want (no beans, potatoes, etc.) - plus all theSouper Soup you want.In addition to the above, You should drink atleast 6 to 8 glasses of water each day, 8 oz. perglass. You may add vinegar, lemon, herbs, soy sauce,worcestershire, ketchup, pepper, or mustard toyour foods to suit your taste.Beef, chicken or fish should be baked orgrilled... no fried foods. Consider steaming yourveggies. Walmart Stores stock a line of greatlittle electric veggie steamers in the $19.95 to$49.95 range that work great for us.(Sorry... but no bread, alcohol, or carbonatedbeverages are allowed during the 7 days... noteven diet soda. If you drink coffee or tea, itmust be decaf and no sugar is allowed...artificial sweetener only).Many people on this regimen report excess gas.Consider keeping a supply of "Beno," "Gasx," orother gas relief product on hand while you're ontplan. A few people report feeling light-headed and/or weak.You should NOT stay on this diet more than 7 dayswithout at least a four week or more break...while eating a balanced diet.
