Little Women
(Louisa May Alcott)
In this family drama by Louisa May Alcott a wife and her daughters have to cope on their own while their father is at war. The book is spiced by the characters and their very contrasting personalities ranging from a soft, loving Beth to the wild and imaginitive Jo. Coincidently this is also which causes all of the problems and conflict. When the youngest of the lot, Amy has a row with Jo, the tomboy she decides to burn her latest novel. It brings out all of the elements of sibling rivalry and as well as a family that sticks together during rough times. And of course what is a novel without a little love story? This one however takes a exciting twist of fate. It all starts when Rory, the rich neighbor's son comes home from university. The girls quickly pull him into their secret society sharing their adventures with him. At first he is like the brother they never had, but like I and I believe all of the other readers too, hoped he soon became a bit more. As an inspiring you writer Jo tries everything in her power to get her works out there. Young Amy is a luxury-seeking little lady who has a passion for all the pretty things of the world. Of coarse the eldest must try and keep everybody sane. And then there is Beth, who is quite content with what she has. This is one of those heart-warming stories where everyone can learn a lesson and you always feel better afterwards. Come in and join the adventures of the March sisters, where there is never a dull moment in sight!
