The Queen And I
(Sue Townsend)
Have you seen the new neighbors? It's the eve of the public elections and The Queen is as nervous as can be. What if... what if the Republican Party wins? In this witty novel by Sue Townsend, she turns the lives of the beloved royal family topsy-turvy. Moving the royals to Hell Close can only spell out 2 things; hilarious disaster! The Queen and I contains all the elements of a wonderful novel, including a peculiar love triangle between Charles, Diana and two most unlikely neighbors. Even the family pets get drawn in as the plot thickens. Needless to say that the royals are everything but thrilled on moving and neither are the neighbors. But it seems that Philip is the one taking it the worst. And nothing anybody does is going to convince him other wise. From the word go everything just keeps going wrong and it only gets worse. I would really strongly recommend this book to anyone who's up for a good laugh, because for this family living in the normal life is anything but...NORMAL. With illustrations by Martin Honeysett it even brings a bit of insight into the world of the rich and the, well not so rich. Sue makes even the most unlikely of events sound realistic. Like Charles ending up in jail, and liking it. Well thats all i can say. Decide for yourself, best seller or blunder! I say BEST SELLER.
