Resumo de A Story About Surviving

Once upon a time there was a big community living together in a nice place near a lake.

They had a big Chief who did most of the hunting so that they can all have enough food
to eat. They had a good life there with big parties during the holidays. They celebrated
Birthdays and had lots of happy lunches and met to talk about the good.

One day a big lightning bolt hit a couple of the big trees. The trees fell down into the lake, and the water got all dirty.

As a result, the animals started to leave the area because there wasn?t enough food or water for them. The hunting became more difficult and the big Chief started to think about other ways to keep the community together.

They gathered for a meeting and the Chief told the community members about the hard times. They decided to send some members out there into the would to see if this might help the rest of the community.

But things didn?t get any better. The animals kept leaving the area, the water continued to be filthy and the big Chief didn?t know what to do.

After a lot of thought he gathered the community together and told them that they might need to leave this area and try to look for a different place to live. ?We?ll try for few more weeks to see if we can stay in this place. Maybe a miracle will happen, if not, each one of us will have to go out into the world by themselves.?

Everyone was very sad knowing how unique this community was and how hard it would be to find a nice place like this.

After thinking over this plan the big Chief and his assistant realized that this plan won?t work, that miracles don?t happen.

So they had another meeting and the big Chief said, ?We still have some resources we can rely on, but it won?t be enough for all of us. If we split up we may be able to survive?. ?But how can we split?? Asked the big Mom. ?Well,? said the big Chief, ?we have to survive, we?ll have to take the strongest members and the ones that can work the longest hours. We?ll look for a new way of hunting, so that means we?ll have to take the boys !.?

The more they thought about it the more they realized that this plan has more bones and guts than the first one.

And with a heavy heart they decided to do the split.
