This real life adventure novel is of one man who for many years pursued the ?demon rum? as his drug of choice because ?he could control it? and past the point of control. It goes on to his weaning off the sauce with the assistance of Alcoholics Anonamyous. There were seemingly great years of riding the fast and thrilling roller coaster of life uninhibited thanks to demon rum but there were also many times of abject fear and misery too. When you read the story you will realize he is being totally honest and frank with you as some of the events he recounts are just too embarassing and detailed to have been fabricated to fill the pages of an empty book. Perhaps in reading some of you readers will be able to recognize some of the problems as your own and this author?s recovery and survival may give the necessary encouragement to enable you to get off the sauce too. That was the way it was for him. He felt if others could do it and start from a lower bottom than he had reached, he believed he could at least do as well. While drinking he thought there were two groups of people. Those who drank and those who didn?t. After he stopped drinking he found out there were many other groups of people out there living happy and safe lives without drinking. He learned that while drinkers told driving directions by drinking establishments and religious zealots told directions by their flavor of church, the recovering alcoholic told directions by a vast variety of churches where he attended AA meetings. We all have to survive and some of us need more help than others.
