Oh, the many sexual fantasies and fancies during our lives. What would it be like to have indulged one self just a bit over the years or maybe more than just a little bit?
This character did that somewhat as a game to sample and enjoy the flavor and pleasure of women in whatever land he was in as he traveled extensively during his career work years. He started as all men start. And, as the opportunities presented themselves, he sometimes and hesitantly took advantage of some opportunities. It would have been very difficult to pass on all opportunities and sad to wind up an old man with only a vast memory of regrets of ?If I had only?.
He occasionally met other men pursuing the same hedonistic life style and after swapping stories the both entered into a contest to see which could come up with the greater number of trophies. A trophy according to their rules was one woman from each country they visited and the more exotic or remote the country the better. That was something like in poker when you have 3 of a kind and an ace high. Well with these two guys, this character always had a larger number and his highest trophies were a gal from Djibouti and a white Russian raised in a convent in Japan. And, then years later, US troops were sent to Djibouti and that place lost it?s uniqueness as anyone could have a trophy from there.
Life can be grand and enjoyable if perceived that way. The stranger is just a friend not yet met. The pretty woman may be just as eager for companionship as the lonely man. People and ships meet in the night and part in the morning. And, in at least two countries where dating is not allowed, local custom dictates that being seen with the woman of the night before in the daytime meant you were now husband and wife. There are different marriage ceremonies in different lands and some require no questions or answers.
A hedonistic lifestyle can manifest itself in various ways. Pleasure given can be pleasure received.
