Bite
(Richard Laymon)

Publicidade
"Bite" starts off with Cat showing up at the door of her old friend Sam. It was a shocking surprised since he hadn't seen her since they were kids. She looked the same but different. Older but beautiful. Exactly how he remembered but better. This was a dream come true for Sam. Except for one thing. The reason for Cat's sudden return. She wanted him to save her. Rescue her from the mess that had become her life. She had a vampire. Or was it, a vampire had her? She needed him to get rid of her vampire known as Elliot. A silly name for a vampire right? You'd think. But Elliot wasn't your average vampire. Equiped with his metal fangs and black cape, he'd come to Cat everynight. Sam agreed to help Cat. He'd do anything for her. And she knew this. The plan: Sam was to hide in the closet and wait for Elliot to appear. Sam was disturbed, yet excited watching the ritual that went on everynight. Things didn't go as planned. They never do. Sam walked out silently while Elliot was busy biting Cat. Drove the steak through his back. But that wasn't the end. Elliot fought back. Cat ended up finishing Elliot off. After this, the book takes you through the struggles they face trying to find a place to bury Elliot. They eventually run into a mad man who holds them captive. They met two other people who they believe are captives too, but its more to it then any of them know. Along the way Sam learns more and more of Cat's haunting past. Things that make him sick to his stomach. Yet through it all he's still happy to finally be with her, even though they both may end up dead. At least they would have died together.
