Sixth Sense
(David Benjamin)

Publicidade
Imagine having one sense, a sixth sense, that no one else has. Imagine being awaken every night because something or someone wants to tell you, only you, something that happened to them when they were still alive. Imagine being the young child that this is happening to. There is no one to turn to. No one to listen to you, to your wild tales of death and visitors in the night. What if your own mother doesn't really understand or help and she loves you most? Who is left that will help you understand what is happening to you?

Of all the extra senses you could be blessed with, the ability to see the non-living would be the worst nightmare I could imagine. Every child hears the imaginary thump under his bed or in his closet, but what if it isn't imaginary? If you have ever checked under a bed for a monster and felt silly for doing it? Imagine how important and secure the child felt after your caring belief in his fears. If just one person believes and trusts in you, it could be enough to help you through a difficult time. Enough to keep you sane. Cole, the 7 year old with the sixth sense, had only himself until the psychiatrist came to visit.

Some would think this was a good thing until they realize that nothing has changed. Cole is still being visited by the dead. He has no one to really help him handle the fear he must face daily, although the dead doctor does his best considering his physical state. But...what happens when Cole helps the psychiatrist and the psychiatrist can finally go into the after life? Who will listen to Cole then?

Once again he is faced with the lonliness of his sixth sense.
