One's Past Life
(ALEXANDRE-DUMAS)
ONE?S PAST LIFE I am going to tell you about a book I have just finished reading, I really love the writing of this author, John Paul Carminati. It was my captivation. I advise you to read it. Definitely, the author, John-Paul underwent a radical change. From the young author who wrote "Deep-rooted vice" to the promising novelist "The Remission", he achieved "The Concealment of Booties", his honorable mention as a writer in his own right. This new artistic work is not an invitation, it is Ali Baba?s cave. The pages habour certain treasures, but to discover them, one needs a wish-fulfilling sesame. The writing is not easy to understand, it is ambitious and unusual. The first 135 pages contain the idea which Paul Mollet recorded in his Dictaphone for, it seems, the writing of a novel on his infancy, his youth. The playcourt, the catechism class, Rupert, the son of the Professor of English, Rupert, his best friend. Rupert, this bastard, and above all, Hannah Spielgarten. Because as all stories which merit narration, this book speaks of a girl. One of those who turn men?s heads. Paul Mollet, of course, is also eminent and sure of himself. Professor Vivaldi, the director of emergency psychiatric services. The doctor is going to make a discovery in the manuscript of a patient, whom they have just brought to him, a patient whose name is uncertain. The love story he never lived. Paul Mollet sought in his past the injuries which spiced up his novel. Vivaldi earned his livelihood through digging into the past of his patients. And John Paul Carminati signs, making us delve into the eternal riddle: Why do we unceasingly look into our past? A novel written for advancement.
