A typical day in the life of Jim. Ironheart could mean going to the local grocery store to pick up some food items, then, without warning, be on a plane to Oregon to save the life on a complete stranger.. He found himself next to a woman in the store and out of no where, he turns to her and says, 'Lifeline.' Never knowing where is word comes from, he dure knows where it's going. So immediatly he goes home in Southern California, packs a small suitcase, and heads out to the airport. When he knows what city to go to, he gets a ticket.
Holly is a journalist on an interview with a poet/teacher. afterwards, she heads back to her car when a man rushes past her, nearly knocking to to the ground. She chases after the man but when she finally reached him, she sees him throw himself into the street and grabs a small boy and they both fly to the ground at the curb just being missed by a speeding truck.
Later, she questioned the man on his knowing the boy would get hit and why he was there. All he said was his name was Jim. Finally she gets out of him that he lives in Southern California and his name is Jim Ironheart. She gave him a ride to the airport but was never able to get him out of her mind.
Later, Jim is speeding down the dusty roads of the desert in a stolen car. he arrives at a parked vehicle and gets out to see a man, shot and taking in his last breaths. To Jim, the man says his daughters and his wifes name. Remembering a motor home he had passed on the way to the car, Jum immediatly turned around and raced to catch up with it. The motorhome throws jims car off the road. The driver of the home pulled over and 2 men got out to investigate. By the time they reached the car Jim was hidden. Eventually being spotted, jim shot both men. Inside the home he found a the girl and her mother bound and gagged. He was asked his name, and all he would reply was, 'Jim'.
Taking a motorcycle off the back of the motorhome jim drove into the desert. He made it to a small town and into a church just before dehydration took his life. When he woke he was in the house of the priest, who had taken care of him and continued to do so until jim was well enough to be on his way again.
Jim asked the priest to take him to the airport and he did. He was set out on another 'lifeline'
Back in Oregon, Holly could not get Jim Ironheart out of her mind. So she did research on him. She found where he was lived and multiple articles from across the US about a guy named 'Jim' that saved someones life here and there and never stayed long enough to take credit.
She decided this was too big a story to miss, so she packed up to head to Jim's town. She stayed in a motel there and talked to a friend of Jim's where she learned that he used to teach, but gave that up after a student he had been working with commited suicide.
Holly had a terrible nightmare that was so real it came out of her dream when she was awake. She had dreamed she was in a windmill, when she had awoken the monster that came out of the walls in the mill, came out in her hotel room. She screamed and panicked and soon it vanished. in the morning she went to jims house and got there as he was pulling away. She followed him to the airport and bought a ticket for the same plane and stayed hidden from him.
He spotted Holly as the plane went down and he saved over 100 people.
They got together and from the dream Holly decided to investigate the mill. They went there and and alien light show spoke to them. Holly figured out it was Jim all along with teh friend and the enemy and explained to him he has a personality disorder, as long as he was in denial, it would continue. So she brought him out of denial by showing him his REAL past. That his grama died 25 years ago, not 5, that his grandpa was still alive, and that his parents were shot to death by a mad gunman. He speaks with his grandpa finally after 13 years and is forced to remember he had powers when he was a small boy. he could levateand his final memory is of his granma falling down the steps of the mill and dieing. the delusion is over, except jim can still save lives. which he and holly do.
