Robin Klein is an admired writer for those who are in their teens or about to begin them. She has written over forty books and she has won numerous awards .Her book ?Hating Alison Ashley? written in 1985, has made the movies. Some of her famous books include ?People might hear you?, ?Seeing things?, ?Came Back to show you I could fly? ?Half way across the galaxy and turn left? and ?List maker?.

Came back to show you I could fly is set Victoria street, Melbourne, where Seymour dwells bored and lonely in his aunt Thelma?s house. His reason being there is his father and mother?s argument?s on his father?s attitude and to make him get a job. His mother has taken him away from his father and left him in the safety of Thelma?s house. He becomes curious to get out of the house, but his cowardice holds him back as the back gate to the alleyway is always closed and he has a fear to climb over it. When he finally gets over his fear he begins to explore the market when he comes face to face with some bullies. He begins to run but realise he does not know Thelma's gates' identity. He finally finds an open gate which he presumes to be Thelma?s. He enters and is seen by Angie, Beautiful, and charismatic Angie in Seymour?s eyes. A friendship begins to develop between Angie and Seymour. Angie takes Seymour on shopping sprees and journeys, while Seymour supports her and helps clean up her around her flat. The friendship between Angie and Seymour is strong but little does Seymour know of Angie?s secret, Angie is on drugs.

The main characters in this novel are Angie and Seymour. Angie?s family is also a bit involved because Seymour is caught up a bit in their affairs. Seymour shows deep affection towards Angie as a friend. Angie is a friend to Seymour because he can be nice and good company.

The words in the book were sometimes entirely new to me. The book goes into deep detail about the different settings and characters. The book is slightly hard to read for young children and I would recommend it to anyone in their teens or over. It is a very good book because it is a peaceful and calm story with not too many twist and turns to leave the reader baffled in the end. I would give this book an 8/10. I took two marks off because I do not like too much detail and it did not have enough twist and turns.
