The Hobbit

Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit, a plump creature half the size of humans who enjoy food and drink, but nothing out of the ordinary. Bilbo?s quiet life is disturbed when an elderly wizard named Gandalf arrives and convinces the hobbit to embark on a quest with a group of thirteen dwarves. The goal of their mission is to reclaim their treasure stolen by the dragon Smaug.
After nearly being eaten by trolls, the group arrives at the elfish village of Rivendell where they meet and receive advice from the great elf lord Elrond. After their departure, they begin to cross the Misty Mountains. After escaping a group of goblins, the dwarves and Gandalf accidently leave Bilbo behind.
Wandering through the tunnels, Bilbo finds a strange golden ring lying on the ground. Curious, he takes it. He then encounters a hideous creature named Gollum who wants to eat him. Luckily, the ring renders the wearer invisible, and Bilbo uses it to escape.
After exiting the tunnel, he reunites with the dwarves and the wizard. They later meet a group of great eagles who helps them escape from a pack of evil wolves.
The adventurers arrive at the dark forest of Mirkwood, where they are abandoned by Gandalf who needs to attend to some urgent matters. Using his sword and his ring, Biblo helps his companions escape from a group of giant spiders.
After escaping a group of wood elves, the company reaches Lake Town, a human settlement near the Lonely Mountain, under which the great dragon sleeps with the treasure.
Bilbo sneaks into the mountains and tricks Smaug into telling him his weak spot. The hobbit then steals a golden cup, which provokes the dragon to exit the cave and burn Lake Town to the ground. However, aware of his weakness, an archer shoots the dragon in the heart, killing him.
An army of goblins and Wargs (the evil wolves) capitalize on the quarrel between the dwarves and the humans and elves regarding the gold, to attack. The human, elves, and dwarves reunite, and with the help of the eagles, they defeat the goblins and the Wargs.
Forever changed by his adventures, Bilbo happily returns home.
