In this twisting kaleidoscope of life, we encounter people
from all walks of life, some of whom give us joy and some pain. life can be
very trying indeed, the challenges it imposes sometimes are immensely
troublesome and in such circumstances there is just the source of solace and
comfort irrespective of the enormity of the calamity. No denying the fact, that
foundation of joy is our parents and according to me the most beautiful of God?s
manifestations. But where does one go if they fail us in times when we need
them the most, in crucial situations, critical enough to change our lives?

Imagine the
pitiful plight of one such individual whose buoyant hopes are mercilessly
dashed to the ground by his parents who demand him to take up a career of not
his own but their choice. To implicitly obey their dictates and accomplish what
they themselves could not achieve .It is true that there is no friendship, no
love like that of a parent for the child. Then why is that they get blinded by
petty insignificant issues and as status and materialistic possessions like
wealth when it comes selecting a life partner for their progeny. They blatantly
refuse to acknowledge the fact that their child has already selected a life
partner. Instead, of giving their blessings for a happy matrimony, they act as
the main obstacle. Now won?t it be a mockery of their marriage when at the
alter they go through the sacred rituals without actually meaning them. In my
observations, certain parents will always treat their progeny as children even
if they have crossed forty. Their offspring rebel when they realize that their parents do not give them the
liberty to use their own sense of direction in business and other walks of
life. Why should parents be so overbearing and tight-fisted? After all,
whatever they have inherited from their parents should rightfully and
generously be passed into the next generation at the right time. If this does
not take place amicably then their progeny will most likely revolt and take to
anti-social activities like drinking and drugs to give vent to their mental
frustrations. Under such circumstances, it is better if they become independent
even if it is against their parents wishes.

Parents
send their children to the best of institutions to learn to reason. Of what use
is this education if the parents keep dictating terms to their youngsters. They
should make leaders and not followers of their offspring. After all human
beings are the most superior of all the races who are blessed with a keen
intellect. If elders keep hampering the mental development of their youngsters
by not giving them the proper freedom then I am sorry to say that this whole
education system is a big farce where people don?t practice what they preach.
