The dynamic duo of LeBron James and Larry Hughes has made winning games a way of life for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Cleveland will look for its ninth consecutive win Thursday when it meets the Indiana Pacers.
Since signing with the Cavaliers as a free agent on August 2, Hughes has combined with James to provide a dramatic increase in Cleveland's offensive firepower. The two have combined for 134 points in their last two contests.
James scored 36 points for the second straight game and Hughes added 25 as the Cavaliers won their eighth game in a row, a 115-93 triumph over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday.
Cleveland coach Mike Brown, who spent two seasons as an assistant with the Pacers, has led the Cavaliers to their longest winning streak in eight years and their best start since the 1976-77 season.
Indiana, which has won four of its first five home contests, is looking for its first three-game winning streak of the campaign.
Ron Artest scored 24 points and Stephen Jackson added 17 for the Pacers, who put together their best defensive effort of the season in Sunday's 85-74 victory over the Houston Rockets.
Indiana has won the last six home meetings against Cleveland and took three of the four overall encounters last season.
