This is a touching and unusual story of an ordinary pilot (Richard Bach himself) and a Messiah. Unusual as at the end it changes the life of the reader. The Messiah, Donald Shimoda knows everything he has to know as if it was the most usual thing. He controls the material, he can turn the solid ground into liguid-and he states you can also do the same. Hows and whys follow each other in astonishing chapetrs one by one...and the pilot slowly realizes that everything he believed was true about how this world works is untrue.This realization has a huge importance-for the reader as well. We rule the faith-even not knowing about that.
