This book, written in the first person, drive us to understand something of a different intelligence.
Chistopher John Francis Boone, from Suindon, near London, a 15 years old boy, being involved in an incident that takes him to develop a detective work and, at the same time, a writing work, drive us to laugh, to cry, to be in suspense, to know his rules, to learn intrincate mathematics and physics problems. Show us his limitations , his fears and his logician reasoning.
We get involved and we want him to win during all the time.The start point is the discovery of the neighbour?s dog, dead by a garden fork. This fact inspires him to pretend to be a detective, with brilliant mentions on Sherlock Holmes.
The difficulties witch Cristopher has to deal from this fact teach and touch us.His life is lived following rules as timetables, colours choosed with his special logician and, because of the collours the choice of the foods, clothes and even the good luck or hard luck for the day and so four. At school he learn about the rules of living togheter at society, he learns arts and he learns mathematics.
The book is illustred by himself with graphics and geometrical pictures without emotion , but clean and informed. The way he uses to face de facts that are out of his rules as much people, tunnels, noisy, visual appel is genial. Christopher concentrates in mathematics formulas, more complex as it is bigger his fear, to make his brain clean and to reason. In the more critic moments, he put his hands in his ears, close the eyes and groans in order to stop the noyses that interefere in his brain don?t allowing him to raciocinate.He also describes with scientific argues his atheism and his incapacity for emotions like love .The fact that causes in him the more near from emotion is the way he cares the rat pet Tob, his fear because of lies and, mainly, his maths A level examinations.
Even though, Chistopher planes to go to the university, get a First Class Honour degree and became a scientist.

Christopher John Francês Boone, um garoto de Suindon, perto de Londres, de 15 anos, ao deparar com o incidente que o leva a fazer um trabalho de detetive e, ao mesmo tempo de escritor, nos faz rir, chorar, ficar em suspense, conhecer suas regras, aprender difíceis problemas de matemática e de física. Mostra suas dificuldades, seus medos e seu raciocínio lógico.Faz-nos torcer por ele durante toda a narrativa.
O ponto de partida é a descoberta de um cachorro, de uma vizinha, morto com um garfo de jardim. Isto desperta nele uma vontade de se fazer de detetive, onde ele faz brilhantes citações a Sherlock Holmes.
As dificuldades com as quais passa a lidar a partir deste fato ensinam e emocionam.Sua vida é extremamente vivida dentro de regras exatas, horário controlados em segundos,as cores escolhidas com sua lógica especial e, a partir daí suas comidas, roupas e até a classificação que determina se seu dia será bom, muito bom, ruim etc.
Na escola ele aprende as regras para conviver na sociedade, aprende artes e aprende matemática. O livro é ilustrado por ele com gráficos e imagens desprovidas de emoção, mas absolutamente geométricas, limpas e esclarecedoras. A maneira que ele usa para superar as situações que fogem de seus padrões, como multidões, barulho, muito apelo visual é genial. Ele se concentra em fórmulas matemáticas, tanto mais complexas quanto maior é o seu medo, para ficar calmo e conseguir raciocinar.Nos momentos mais críticos ele tampa os ouvidos, fecha os olhos e grunhe para abafar os ruídos que interferem com seu cérebro não deixando que ele raciocine.
Ele descreve seu ateísmo e sua incapacidade para sentir emoções como amor, saudades, baseado em descrições científicas exatas. O fato que causa nele alguma coisa mais parecida com emoção é o relacionado com o cuidado que tem com seu animal de estimação, seu medo frente a mentiras e seus exames para passar para um nível mais avançado em matemática.
Apesar disto, ele planeja sua ida para uma universidade e seu futuro como cientista.
