The novel has enough weigh of murder, incredible plot, and desbordated creativity, as to allow us to become observers of a human being who makes of his acts a project of existance. The game of the no moral, insinuated sexual tendencies, and the end of extraordinary literary value, turn this work in a clasic of the great master of the intrigue that is Highsmith. The reading of the novel reveal us the structure of a way of thinking, of a way of undestanding desire, of a need of power in front of all. This would be the justification of Maquiavelo with regards to no matter the way we act while the end justified the means. The most tragic thing is that perhaps we would never know the end of the protagonist.
