The Adornment It was a pretty woman, Mathilde. She is beautiful, appealing. She got married with a small employee of the ministry. She doesn't have any jewelry but she would like some. She lives in a small apartment because she is poor. One evening, her husband went back and gave her a letter.It was the feast of the ministry. She went back sad because she didn't have a dress to go there. Her husband gave her 400 francs to buy a beautiful dress. The day of the feast, Mathilde seemed worried because she didn't have any jewelry to put. Then, her husband told to her that she could be going to see his friend Mrs. Forestier to make itself lend some jewelry. Mrs. Forestier gave her a very beautiful and precious necklace. The day of the feast, Mathilde was the prettiest. Her husband slept since midnight in a small lounge when they wanted to go back they took an old carriage that he brought them back until their door. When Mathilde wore the clothes on the shoulders, she saw that she didn't have Forester's necklace. They looked for in all places where they went, but they didn't find the necklace. She lost it.They went to look in one jewelry for another necklace similar to the other one. It was worth 36.000 francs. Mathilde possessed 18.000 francs of her father. Then, she borrowed the rest. To pay for all the money, the family Loisel has worked in the big household. One day she saw Mrs. Forestier. She went to speak to her. Mrs. Forestier doesn't know it. But, finally, she recognized it and Mathilde told her the whole history. Mrs. Forestier said to her that her necklace was false.
