This book is about a young boy named Elisha, who is appointed to kill a man he does not even know. He is a member of a rebel group that have captured an important soldier from the enemy. The enemy, too has an important someone of theirs. They warn them that they will kill the soldier if the execution of David the Mosche go through. They do infact kill the man and Elisha is then appointed to kill him. This novel covers the inner struggle and overcoming his fear and reluctancy to kill this man who he finds very respectable.
