Luli
(Rotem Omri)
A very charming and enjoyable book, awarded first prize in the Golden Cut designers competition.Suitable for ages two and up to those who remain forever young, (regardless of number of birthdays celebrated). It can be used for learning and exercising counting from zero to ten.Note that the counting here starts at Zero. The majority of existing counting books begin with the number one, but starting with zero establishes a sound basis for numerical understanding that is more complex and far more interesting .Many children who begin to learn counting, as well as the experienced counters, will no doubt enjoy meeting Luli.Luli was once a princess, and today is a child-acrobat, who loves playing and rolling around happily with her magical friends, amongst whom you'll find elephants, enchanted cats and snails. The book if filled with graceful word games and a lyric rhythm.Luli is a soft and flexible yet very real play dough figurine. It is so much fun getting to know Luli and count with her time and time again, easily and lovingly.Luli strolls around the magical Lulliland. She builds beautiful , round snowmen in the winter. In the summer time, Luli leaps into her swimming pool for a refreshing dip, not forgetting to drink in order to protect herself against the hot summer sun (? a delightful addition of safety awareness during our sun- filled summer days?)Luli rolls over and over and never gets dizzy , accompanied by bees, just as vibrant and acrobatic as herself, who are flying around the pages of the book in correlation with the numbers, offering yet another way to continue the counting game and providing an easy visual way for the child to memorize numbers while re-counting them over and over.Everything is possible for Lulli. Everything flows naturally for her.Rumors flowing to my ears have it that we shall very soon have the privilege of getting more closely acquainted with Luli and the colors she loves. I was also happy to find out that more books about Luli have already been written and are on their way to be published.
