We Survive, We Learn...

This is an interpretation which a lot of people don?t agree with?.if any? I read ?The curious incident of the dog in night time? by Mark Haddon some months back?the book touched me deeply, but somewhere, somewhere deep inside it reminded me of some other books, not the same character set, but the same feelings? It reminded me of ?Rebecca? which might sound sacrilegious at the least? Everyone has read ?Rebecca?; Daphne Du Maurier at her best it is also called by many? So what made me tie up the two books together?? They both have central characters that have a lack of ?normal? human characteristics? The central character is ?The curious incident?? happens to be a super-intelligent teenager who has OCD (Obsessive compulsive disorder), and ?Rebecca? we have a young woman who is extremely low on self esteem? And through both the book a mystery leads them into gaining that power to eliminate the so called shortcomings in their character to some degree?both of them are in a form betrayed by a person they love the most? A child survives something a journey into the ?un-chartered territory? of his life and a young woman learns to a confident woman? In the end they both grow up as human beings, to become better people, people to be admired? Maybe both the books remind me of each other, but they teach me more?about being us, about surviving?
