To Watch And To Punish
(Michel Foucault)

Publicidade
This book of Michel Foucault, of who I am following all its writings because it seems to me a fascinating writer, is the one that have seemed me màs dense. I do not want that he is understood dense by heavy or hòstil, what does not happen is that with the way in which Foucault knows to present/display those things that we try to know takes us to a cautious point of so different that the usual thing becomes extraordinary. Of dònde came to the humanity the idea that locking up the people who delinquìa conseguirìa to improve it? Today locks in in dìa people to make them better? By què the capital punishment does not end the crimes? Increases Them? These and muchìsimas other questions come us to the mind to travès from the pàgina; the book is disquieting. At first the human beings broke, threw boiling water, destroyed with horses the body of the delinquent because habìa victim the person of the king, then he was allowed and not only allowed but forced the right one to make pay the offense fìsicamente him. With advancing of the times, filosofìa, the humanismo and the pretensions of real justice slowly changed these demonstrations of savagery by which it does not destroy the body but that it also ends the individual. Conocen you which has been done better person locked up in one càrcel? In the times of the executions outdoors the deaths exhibited to the pùblico represented bloody tableau vivants before which the multitude was placed as now it does before the cinema, televisiòn and any other espectàculo that makes contemplate it horrors. By què? I believe that aùn we are very far from discovering it. Serìa to have found the key. The greater thought than generò in mì Vigilar and Castigar, was that people commit individual crimes to take revenge the great pùblica injustice, pay màs to it dèbiles, small and defenseless, the crime becomes a way to reign to govern to take revenge itself against the power that openly attacks the citizen. Pederastìa is greater expresiòn of the fear and the revenge of beings who have been harassed from dìa same which they showed by the Earth, for that reason look for màs tender, màs delicate, to hurt it, to unravel the mystery of the great revenge that continùa and continùa. So it seems that to bring new children to the world it was in fact one new form of sentence to works forced in all the literal one that has the phrase. Sara Joffrè
