Its not too often that I pick up a book of poems and feel really pleased that I enjoyed it so much.
Generally if its too "arty" ... I do what "Joe Public" does and throw it into the cardboard box
at the door .... or I scratch a little note on the front cover to the effect that .. dear friend ...
here is your thank you present ... and I enjoyed lunch ... let me know what you think on the
subject of .... these .... poems .... etc.

Well now down to brass tacks ... Discursive Humanism ... I know that some people dont believe in God, unlike me., and are known generally
and non believers ... but Humanists are highlighted here

What is it to meet someone? What is it to see the huge real eyes of them: To bawl out of each others' baby brains ...

a line of poetic discursive full of implied meanings ... asking question after question ... and as the reader I await
someone to answer the questions posed in these lines. Perhaps since they have no God ... they fall down
on their knees to teachers and poets to deal with the unanswered questions. I suppose I could add.
the prayers remain unanswered .. If I said to the poet "Ask God" the reply: is: there is no God! ...
Its a fix, I guess... and we face it fairly and squarely ...The key is human .... so the being is a man or a woman
without a face!

Ken Smith's book Wormwood Scrubs a Jail ... 1987 ...showed it need not be like that ... contributor refers to writers he
admires as Haynes and Liardet ....

My attention was drawn to the line: I Loved above all Literature ... by Helene Cixous and in this extract ... literature has always been the greatest and most sublime of affairs ... that makes me laugh in the middle of torment.

Finally, CONVERSATION: by Gagan Gill begins: No water only sky and ends fittingly with the lines .... that the skull smashing ritual
has already begun ..... inside her ... dynamic poetry ... I am convinced it needs an airing ... the writer feels a need to space out
feeling with space and sky is wonderfully evocative and contrasts sharply with the literal notion of things being "inside her"

Totally mind blowing activity ... Poetry Review .... Identity ... have you found your identity if so you can keep it to
yourself or publish it .... hopefully in next issue of the Poetry Review .... excellent reading ....
