Arthur hitchikes around the galaxy together with his non-Earthly friend Ford Prefect, the former-president of the galaxy Zaphod Beeblebrox and of course Trillian, the other last human alive. Arthur learns all about the universe and how to survive in it. Towels, of course, is the hitchhiker's most essential tool as well as the guide itself. But it isn't all fun and games because Arthur also learns that his planet Earth was not a planet at all - it was actually a computer designed to calculate the big question - the question of life, the universe and everything. The answer has been known for millions of years though - it is 42. And Arthur's mind has the question, and there are some beings that would do anything to get it out!Douglas Adams has a unique sense of humor, and this book shows it very well.
