WISDOM PAYS !
A dog and a cock were eternal friends and set off together on a journey. At nightfall they landed in the middle of the woods, with a brook nearby. The cock climbed up the tree while the dog rested in the hollow of the tree. Besides the brook, stayed a stag with one eye. The cock crowed at the daybreak and on hearing its sweet voice a cunning fox hurried to the tree. The fox sang praises to the cock and coaxed it to come down. The clever cock was not to be duped and replied clevery that a portar(the dog) was sleeping and the door was locked. The stupid fox hurried to wake up the portar, who leaped at the fox, tore at him and hurt him badly. Isn't it wise to get help, as the cock did when you know you are not strong enough to win the battle.

Looking at this, the one eyed stag thought wisely, that precaution is better than cure. He stayed on the river side to be safe from the huntsmen. He thought all the harm came from land. But no! dear friend, danger often came from unexpected corners. So keep eyes open. One day a party of merrymakers were out in the boat. They spotted the stag and only out of fun shot an arrow. The arrow found its mark and the stag was dead.

A motherfrog witnessed the whole scene and sighed deeply. It too stayed beside the groove with its six babies. The seven baby was brushed under an enormous hoof of a wild ox. The mother frog sensed the danger and ran away with the remaining six babies. She knew very well dangercould come from any corner. A weak can never stand against a strong. Either a help was needed or keep your eyes, ears and senses unlocked.
