Jeffrey Archer has come up once again with a beautiful melodramatic novel. Sons Of Fortune talks about two twin brothers who got parted in a cinematic consequence & grown up without knowing the existence of each other. Nat Cartwright remained to his original parents & the other named Fletcher Davenport to a multi billionaire?s only son. They went to two different renowned rival schools fell in love with the same girl but didn?t meet. Both completed their graduation. Nat returned home as a war hero & continued his studies to become a successful banker later on. On the other hand Davenport became a renowned criminal lawyer & then turned to a politician following his father-in-law?s footstep. They didn?t meet until they were up-against each other in an election & one has to defend the other for a murder that he didn?t commit. Eventually they came to discover the truth about each other.
We find another character named Ralph Elliot, the guy with same kind of intelligence but also got a criminal mind. The twin brothers got this guy in almost every facet of their lives to come across in their way with his numerous clandestine seems blazing shotguns with both hands getting always these twin brothers directly in firing line. At the end this villain got trap in his own idea and made his wife to be the cause of his unnatural death.
This novel stands out because of the writer?s efficacy to make every reader cling to each line and also the language, which is lucid as well as racy too.
Here Archer managed to draw similarity in the way of born and brought up of these two protagonist to some extent like their in born leadership, intelligence, even getting the same villain in their way but still made no hotchpotch of it. He quietly portrayed the change in politics & generation which United States faced during forties to end of seventies like a blurred background in a landscape photo shoot & the extraordinary consequences made this novel a thousand footstep forward than his other marvelous creations.
