Dutch Jew Baruch Spinoza (1632 - 1677), the bright student in the Amsterdam community, as they assume, was nature to the portrait of David on the Rembrand?s picture ?Saul and David?.
However, it became famous no by this. Spinoza is famous, first of all, by freethinking in publicly - political views and especially in the judgments about the religions and about the God. To Bible and Talmud he had treated not as to the sacred books, but as to natrally - historical creations. Already in the youth he negatively related to some dogmas of Judaism, for which
in 1656 there was excommunicated from the synagogue and was forced to leave Amsterdam.
In 1670 Spinoza published ?Theological- political treatise?, in which he presented his views on the religion and concept of God. He asserted that the God - is the not acting from without creator, but the lying inside the things, including man, reason for the latter. Thus, the God lives in each soul, and inherent to universe harmony is god. Great scientists, Leibnitz, Einstein divided this judgment of Spinoza. Einstein, for example, declared, that he believes in the God of Spinoza, who appears in the harmony of entire existing, but not in the god, who carries out fate and acts of people.
According to Spinoza, all in the world is governed by logical need, but not by the certain consciously creating God. It is possible to only attempt to represent, what commotion
and hatred similar statements of Spinoza caused among churchmens!
It is not all that Spinoza was excommunicated from the synagogue; the theologians of all Christian directions hated him. But he lived, without expecting the approval of his views. He was not avid, also, to the money: state passed to him as the inheritance from the father he voluntarily handed down to his two sisters. To the life he earned by lens grinding, and reached there the large craftsmanship.
Many times to him proposed material support from the different sides - from the rich men, which shared his views, from the rulers, and from the friends, but he invariably rejected the aid, considering that spiritual freedom and the independence can be preserved only with the working life. Spinoza was great thinker, who considerably outdistanced the judgements of his contemporaries.
One cannot fail to note that Spinoza not renounced from the Judaism and not turned to other religion. He believed in the Jewish people and predicted restoration the Jews state.
