The book is an eyeopener for anybody wanting to make a career, but in the corporate world.His take on women wanting to make a career and lamenting about the pressing demands at home is hundred percent accurate -The women are not making a sacrifice they are making a choice whether it is their family or the career. Demanding concessions from the company citing the family problems is bad work ethics and totally unprofessional. There are numerous examples if you look around about women who are too eager too grab a job and then pass away their time tending family matters.There are examples galore in the government jobs ,take government teachers for example they are too happy to land a well paying secure and less demanding job, of course the best part is their is no boss their boss is the government which is an invisible entity residing somewhere and does not bother its employees too much. The lady teachers are perpetually on leave for once they land a job marriage is not far away and then they are too involved in raising their kids and go on long medical leaves often spanning ten to fifteen years altogether and that is not an exagerration. Now take the case of lady officers in army they rant like fanatics in Academy that they are no less than male cadets and they are ready to be sent to the forward posts and die for their country but all that changes once they are in the unit ,where the hunt for a mentor and the future husband starts from day one. Lady officers are seldom seen running with the company they are too happy to take a walk with senior officers conviniently forgetting that they are not doing their duty for which they are getting paid then you can also hear them saying that they are ladies and thus cannot run with men but of course they can lead them in what way God Knows!.It is high time somebody came out with a book on government jobs as well. But I think to survive in a government job the book should teach skills in nepotism and favoritism.
