Pressure manifest in different ways. It could be parental or family pressure. Your p[aren?t extended family wants you to marry mr x or miss y for certain reasons, There is also peer pressure ? all your friends are getting married and you are feeling left out because all their conversations now center around marriage-related issues and you feel unqualified to contribute since you are not married. This form of pressure that can cause you to make the wrong decision. This type of pressure affects both men and women. Age is another important factor that creates pressure. As people get loder, they become more frantic and desperate about marriage and are more prone to making bad decisions. Age can cause family pressure: everyone says you are getting older, and your parents may want grandchildren. If you allow it, this will put pressure on you. Pressure can also be generated within yourself: you feel time is running out; if you are a woman, your biological clock is ticking fast ( you are anxious to have children); all your younger siblings are married and this makes you feel conspicuous; you need to start having sex ? you cant wait any longer.
You may feel the pressure to escape from loneliness, insecurity or abuse, or it could be pressure from false dreams, visions and prophecies. The list could go on and on. You must understand one thing ? God has good plans for you which he will actualize in his own time. The Bible says: for I know the plans I have for you, declares the lord, plans to prospers you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future? ( jer 29 ; 11). Just be patient and be faithful, for he has made everything beautiful in his time. (Eccles 3:11, amplified) your time will come too and it will be glorious with no regrets
