Marrying an ungodly person or someone who is not committed to the same Christian belief as you, can be likened to buying a very expensive gadget without any guarantees you are not protected against any risks or malfunction that may and will most likely occur. A person like that is also comparable to a piece of very valuable electronic equipment without a fuse (a circuit breaker) or a voltage stabilizer that finds itself at the mercy of every malfunction in the power supply. When the current is lower than the normal, the equipment is unable to perform it?s function, when there is an enormous increase in the supply, it blows up. Expensive gadgets need circuit breaker or stabilizers to check the effect of abnormal current. It is the same with the life of man. Marriage is an expensive alliance. We need the Holy spirit to check the effect of abnormal emotions, desires and tribulations that may come with out daily living. A person who has no personal relationship with God, is like a gadget without a stabilizer or a circuit breaker. A lovely Christian woman in her early thirties began to feel inadequate, owing to her single status. All her friends had settled into their own marriages, in despair she started dating a gentle man who appeared to be all she wanted in a man-handsome- intelligent, comfortable and very generous, this man was not a committed Christian, but the lady figured that he was nice, gentle, and understanding, so she went ahead with the relationship, the first thing that happened after their wedding, was that she discovered that the man was a sex pervert, he was a homosexual who loved pornography and wanted his wife to a partner in perverted practices. When she refused he assaulted her and resorted to inviting his friends who shared the same weird sexual passion. The lady endured indescribable mental torture, having to live with a perverted man who neither fears God or have any genuine love for her unable to take it any longer, she left after a year, but a year after she realized she had left too late, she was struck by a strange ailment, the devastating news came when she went to the hospital for her routine check-up, she was HIV positive, the result of the lascivious lifestyle of her non-Christian husband.
