What are dreams which make a modest Brazilian girl decide to leave her family and move to Europe lured by the vision of fame which was introduced to her by a accidentally met men? Indeed, dreams are not always fulfilling according to our expectances. Maria, because such is the name of the protagonist, experienced the rough nature of life. Her life in Europe did not turn out to be like in her dreams, so she became a prostitute in one of clubs in Geneva. The eleven minutes, which stand for the title of the book are nothing else than the duration of sexual act, which gets only a mean to earn money, big money... Nevertheless, a dream about great love is still present in heart of the girl. When it seems, that her european adventure is ending, when she is already holding her luggage and a ticket to come back home, there appears the love, which will change her life... Eleven minutes is definitely not the best of Paule Coehlo's books, but it is worth reading...
