This novel was written in 1934 by the well known author of murder mysteries ?Agatha Christie.This gives you a real picture of rich people in Britain and their life style at that time. The book revolves round the plot of punishing the person who killed Daisy Armstrong. Ratchett or Cassetti is supposed to be the murderer .He is supposed to have kidnapped Daisy Armstrong a three year old child .He takes a handsome ransom from the Armstrong family but kills the child. This is again one of the Hercule Poirot mysteries where Hercule proves that Cassetti is Ratchett .This person Ratchett is murdered in the train by twelve of the thirteen passengers on board who are close to the Armstrong family. A gripping novel from the beginning, is one of the most well known of Christie?s works. Her style of writing is liked by many all over the world.This was made into a film in the year 1974.The film was also very successful. The book is a must read.
