"lament Ix"
(Jan Kochanowski)

Publicidade
"Lament IX" is started from apostrophe to smartness. Kochanowski writes that smartness can change a man into an angel and it can bring out of him all his desires. A poet thinks that smartness is not afraid of death. He defines it using lyrical epithets : "save, invariable" etc. He thinks that the biggest treasure is satisfaction, and that material things are not very important. Kochanowski thinks that he is very unhappy because he tried to be smart and good man, but he did not make it : "Man who lost his ages to see you is very unhappy! Now I am being thrown away from last steps and I am one of many usual people".
