Famous Five Series
The famous five series
By Enid Blyton
These books will always have an adventure in that adventure could be a mystery a kidnap, looking for treasure. Any mysterious event. I myself have not read every single book but I can tell you a bit about the characters that appear in each book. Firstly there are the famous five, which are, Julian, Dick, George, Anne and Timmy the dog. There are actually two boys and two girls but George likes being a boy. Then there is Aunt Francis and Uncle Quentin. Uncle Quentin is a scientist and that is his job. There is also a girl called Jo who sometimes helps the five in their adventures.
All the books are quite similar expect the adventures change and at different times of the year they do different things. In the first book the adventure is about an underground passage from Kirrin Island to Kirrin Farm. The children know about some secret at Kirrin Farm; but their tutor and his friends at the farmhouse try and get the secret before the children. Using the underground passage the children can find out about the secret first.
In most of the books adventures can just start from nowhere. They can start unexpectedly. In another book the five go for a hike and discover some hidden gold. There can also be adventures where the five want to do something and before everything was normal. One book that is a good example of that is five go to smugglers top. My opinion of the story is that they can start quite uninteresting but you would love the next part coming up. Those ones often have the best adventures actually. My brother really likes these books that they have encouraged him to read more Enid Blyton books.
